Where to find Vannes and his wife?

At the corner of rue Rogue and rue Noé, look up and you will see two jovial figures greeting you. Carved in stone, they represent the master and mistress of this 16th century house. Their history is still a mystery, but today they have become the mascots of the people of Vannes.

For lunch, discover without further ado our selection of restaurants offering good food to take away in Vannes. This selection should help you make your choice, as there are many restaurants in Vannes with tasty food!

In the afternoon, we advise you to go for a walk in Conleau to discover its peninsula. A district in Vannes bears the name of Conleau, this district was built during the 20th century from two former hamlets called Petit Conleau and Grand Conleau, each consisting of a manor house and farms. But make no mistake, Conleau is also a peninsula located 5 kilometres from the centre of Vannes.

On the Conleau peninsula, you will find a seawater swimming pool, ideal for cooling off on a sunny day. Afterwards, take the small ferry to Séné, which takes only a few minutes to cross to the other side of the river.

Day 2 - Excursion to l'Île-aux-moines

  • Day trip to l'Île-aux-moines

Only a 5 minute boat ride from Baden, discover the small island of l'Île-aux-moines. The tour of the island is 17 kilometres long and takes about 4 hours and 15 minutes to complete. On the Île-aux-Moines, cycling and walking are king. So take advantage of this unique opportunity to discover the island's heritage and its remarkable views over the Gulf of Morbihan!
