From 1 December 2023 to 7 January 2024, the Christmas lights in Vannes will be shining brightly from Tuesday to Sunday from 5.30pm to 10pm. Experience the magic of the festive season in Morbihan. Stroll through the cobbled streets of the medieval city, look up and admire the Christmas decorations in Vannes!
From December 7 to January 7, from 10am to 11pm, a wonderful experience awaits you at the Port of Vannes: the Ferris Wheel. An exceptional view of the city of Vannes with its festive illuminations is offered to you from the Ferris Wheel, which will be located on the port esplanade. Prices: Children: €5 / Adults: €6
From 16 to 24 December from 5pm to 6pm (on 23 and 24 December at 4pm), Father Christmas and his elves will be strolling through Vannes town centre.
On Sunday 17 December at 3.30pm, the long-awaited Father Christmas will disembark at Vannes harbour. He will then wander through the streets of the city centre, making a number of stops in his horse-drawn carriage. (We've been told that Santa will certainly be handing out sweets to the children!) There will be plenty of entertainment surrounding the event.
Unfortunately, the Vannes Christmas market will not be taking place this year. However, there will be Christmas markets near Vannes, in Auray from 15 to 24 December 2023, in Crac'h on 2 December, and in Rochefort-en-Terre from 1 December 2023 to 7 January 2024.
From 1st to 24th December, children will be able to drop off their lists of presents to Father Christmas in letterboxes located at Monoprix, Les Halles des Lices, Saint-Patern (Carré Blanc) and rue Hoche (Cavavin).
On Wednesday 6 December 2023, between 2pm and 7pm, an extraordinary soap bubble artist will wander through the city centre. An experience for all the family!
From 17 December to 7 January, from 5.30pm to 10pm, it's time for Illuminated Christmas, the city of light for young and old, with a huge LED Christmas tree in Place Maurice Marchais and a wonderful mapping display on the façade of Saint-Yves Chapel. 24, 25, 31 December and 1 January: all-night mapping. On 23, 30 December and 6 January, mapping from 8pm to 10pm. Organised by the City of Vannes.
Also on the Place Maurice Marchais, gourmet chalets await you (5 min walk from the hotel). Chocolate, mulled wine, coffee, tea...
And also Santa's Chalet from 5pm to 7pm: Meet Santa, creative activities with PetitPoi's Imaginarium and a "Letter to Santa" workshop.
The hot chestnut locomotive will be on hand in the town centre squares. Cones offered by your kind-hearted shopkeepers, from 20 to 23 December from 3pm to 7pm and on 24 December from 11am to 3pm.
During the shopkeepers' nocturne on 15 December until 9pm, enjoy a Christmas concert by "The Cactus Candies", a quartet of fun-loving musicians and singers.
