Semaine du Golfe sets the pace for the Gulf of Morbihan with its nautical programme and festivities
To showcase the cultural and nautical riches of the GulfThe Morbihan department had the original idea of creating this event based around the world of sailing. The first edition took place in 2001 and the event continues to attract more and more people every two years. The 13th edition of the Semaine du Golfe is taking place this year!
Numerous French and foreign yachts come together to sail in this very special environment of the "Petite Mer" (Mor Bihan in Breton);
Every day, more than a thousand traditional and classic boats sail in coherent and identifiable flotillas. Each day, each flotilla follows its own sailing programme, calling in at a different port each evening. Visit port of Vannes is one of the 17 member ports.
Don't miss the Semaine du Golfe opening parade which will take place on Monday 26 May from 3pm, when all the boats present will join the Tall Ships flotilla off Méaban.
To keep young and old busy, a wide range of events are being organised during the week, including tastings of local produce and seafood, fest-noz (a night-time party), model-building, local music and shows... You can find out more on the Semaine du Golfe programme on the official website.
